In this ongoing quick-fire ‘behind the scenes’ series, we meet FINkit people from across the business, giving you a flavour of who we are and what we do. Richard Paul is Head of Information Security (aka. Chief Raiser of Risks. King of Pain. Warrior-Poet) at FINkit in our London office.
Thanks for joining us today Richard! It’s the usual 5 questions so that people can get to know more about who you are and what you do at FINkit …
1. In a nutshell, what’s an average day for you?
An average day starts with implementing planned information security roadmap items, dealing with technical and business security matters, providing support to my various stakeholders across FINkit, meeting with auditors and handling customer queries. All whilst being ready to swiftly react to potential security incidents.
2. Best thing about FINkit?
Being part of building and optimising a genuinely new business solution.
3. What makes you want to come to work every day?
Working with the varied teams and business functions across the enterprise – no day’s the same.
4. Why are we different to anyone else?
Because we have the technology and the bank-grade experience to deliver it properly.
5. What’s your go-to downtime activity?
Downtime activity mainly consists of destroying fools who challenge me on the badminton court, getting on the pushbike for a spin around Bushy Park, and drinking some refreshing beverages on the riverside.
